To mark World AIDS Day (December 1, 2011), Women for Positive Action has released a commentary which discusses recent and ongoing research on prevention strategies for the sexual transmission of HIV.

Whats happening at GMFA

Join GMFA this year as they take to the streets this summer.
Two to choose form or better still join them both days and have fun whilst raising money for charity.

Date: Sunday, 16 June
Starting point: Bloomsbury Square
Type of event: 10K walking event along the banks of the Thames between Westminster and Tower Bridge.
Registration: £6
Purpose: charity fundraising event for THT’s hardship fund for those affected by HIV.

If you join Team GMFA then 70 per cent of the money you raise will also go to funding HIV prevention campaigns by GMFA.

Date: Monday, 26 August
Location: Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens, behind the Royal Vauxhall Tavern
Type of event: sports activities/challenge events
Purpose: to raise money for three charities. The money raised will go towards helping GMFA carry out its vital work with gay men’s health issues, including sexual health, general wellbeing, and self-esteem. Money will also go to two organisations that help look after the local Vauxhall community - Vauxhall City Farm, a working farm that volunteers transformed from a derelict piece of land back in the 70s, and The Friends of Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens, which helps maintain the land where Sports Day takes place.
